POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

The Sales Lead will serve as a host for customers as they enter the store. Responsible for greeting, directing, and assisting customers in a courteous, prompt, and friendly manner. Positioned between Store Management and the Sales Associates, the Sales Lead serves both groups to support the company's overall sales. The Sales Lead will spend 100% of their time focusing on building sales and providing an engaged, positive experience for every Brown Jug customer. Therefore, they need to possess strong communication skills, provide friendly customer service, and possess product knowledge to help increase revenue, basket size and customer satisfaction. They also support the management team by offering insight and observations, ensuring merchandising and customer service standards are being met, and completing tasks assigned by management.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the selling of our store's products and services and assisting to maximize sales.
  • Resolving customer concerns and answering customers' questions.
  • Providing sales staff with constructive feedback and assisting staff to solve customers' questions.
  • Maintaining positive customer relations.
  • Motivating the sales associates and creating an energized atmosphere among the staff.
  • Providing customer service and assisting in achieving company initiatives including knowledge on each month's feature planner products, and new or ongoing corporate promotions including but not limited to Brown Jug Wine Club and events.
  • Supporting the sales management team as needed.
  • Greet and engage customers in conversation to identify shopping needs and build the sale, with a focus on private label products.
  • Additional Duties as assigned (e.g. Creating a list of Products to be stocked during slower times; providing coverage for other departments when members of their team go on break: Beer, Wine, or Liquor).
  • Apply the customer infinity loop (approach the customer, discover customer needs, provide a solution, close and complete the sale, and thank the customer for their patronage).
  • Minimum availability must include: Thursday, Friday, Saturday 3-8 pm.

Payrate: $19.00 to $22.00 hourly

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Strong communication skills for interactions with customers and sales staff.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with effective sales strategies.
  • Inspirational attitude and ability to create a motivating environment.
  • Ability to train others effectively.
  • Product knowledge.
  • Customer service skills, including how to manage upset customers.
  • Retail sales experience, or related customer service training.
  • Taps card.
