Deputy Director of Information Technology

Overview:

We are currently recruiting for the Deputy Director of Information Technology who will be responsible for leading a highly technical and talented IT team which supports a multitude of federal, state, and local agencies/customers to include six divisions specializing in security, construction, logistics & operations, engineering, commercial activities, and electric services. The Deputy Director of IT will be primarily responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of Cyber Security and government rules and regulations such as Cyber Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). The Deputy will also serve alongside the Director of Information Technology and the Vice President of Security & IT.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serves as the principal advisor of cybersecurity and develops and implements new cyber technology for the protection of the corporation, employees, and its customers.
  • Serves as the principal advisor for the ongoing execution, implementation, and certification of (CMMC) Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification
  • Assists the Director & VP in developing an overall IT strategic plan to maintain a robust and unified information technology department & infrastructure and deliver a maximum return on investment in technology resources.
  • Improves existing software programs and develops new applications to meet future business needs.
  • Ensures hardware and software are maintained and data is secured through proper back-ups and staff training.
  • Assists in managing budget and controls expenses effectively.
  • Hires, trains, develops, and appraises staff effectively to include leading a team committed to excellent customer service.
  • Assists in developing and monitoring metrics related to IT service levels, capacity, cybersecurity, and cost-effectiveness to senior leadership.
  • Proactively forecasts necessary technology equipment purchases and upgrades necessary to support growth and expansion for all worldwide locations.
  • Defines, implements, and monitors function policies, procedures, standards, methodologies, and guidelines to include federal, state, and local government regulations.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of business strategy and objectives and recommends changes and improvements in the current technology footprint to enable those objectives.
  • Supports the strategic planning process as requested.
  • Evaluates and recommends corporate information systems technology solutions while remaining abreast of trends and emerging technologies, specifically in federal government contracting.
  • Creates, maintains, and enforces written policies and procedures regarding all technology operations throughout the company.
  • Acts to ensure the integrity of organization-wide data, proprietary information, and related intellectual property through information security and risk assessment to include Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
  • Serves as the main CUI Program Manager for the CUI Program
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:


This position will be responsible for supervising and directing the work of several geographically assigned employees and must have senior-level manager experience that can lead, grow, and manage a rapidly expanding corporation.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field. Advanced experience and certifications maybe considered in lieu of degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT federal contracting, with 5+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in relationship with NIST and CMMC.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to perform under high levels of stress.
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning, development, and security management.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and have strong attention to detail.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Preferred but not required: CISSP, CISM, CISA or other IT-related certifications.

Security Clearance:


SECRET Level will be required.
* Must be a U.S. Citizen.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a United States Government Secret Security Clearance.

Work Environment:

General office environment. Travel both domestically and internationally is required based on business demands, typically 25% travel a year.
