The Associate Environmental Scientist or Geoscientist will carry out project duties as established by the client as this is embedded position with an oil and gas company that works on a hybrid schedule. The objective is to produce a result (permits, compliance, monitoring, data, word processing/editing, deliverable tracking, administrative tasks, analysis and conclusions, etc.)which satisfies the client's needs.

Flexibility: The schedule is a minimum of 3 office days with a maximum of 2 work from home days.

Location: Anchorage, AK

Expected Outcomes:

General

  • Acts as liaison with other scientific and engineering disciplines and subcontractors to ensure efficient and smooth implementation of project deliverables.
  • Analyzes problems via literature research and information compilation encompassing all disciplines and studies for a project.
  • Coordinates the preparation of required interim and final reports for projects.
  • Produces project results in the form of reports, tracking documents, logging sheets and manages the archive of previous reports.

Environmental Studies and Permitting

  • Has a working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations applicable to environmental projects.
  • Can serve as a go to resource for clients with permitting needs and knows who to ask with questions.
  • Understands the regulatory climate in Alaska and clients' needs for regulatory advocacy.
  • Successfully prepares permit applications and obtains permits from federal, state, and local agencies.

Management

  • Manages task budgets assigned by the Client which will direct priority tasks and dictate deadlines.
  • Directs and mentors Project Scientists.
  • Builds connections with project stakeholders and client representatives.
  • Creates personal, high-quality connections with clients and project teams.
  • Leads with a focus on quality and health and safety.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • BS or BA in natural sciences plus 5 years of work experience
  • Strong communication, verbal and written.
  • Fieldwork capability and travel may be needed.
  • Must be extremely organized.
  • Highly engaged and supportive of clients' needs.
  • Data analysis and attention to detail.
  • Compatibility with other workers
  • Well-read in most sciences plus all environmental areas
  • Ability to work directly with clients in a client's office.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $48,000 - $64,100 - $80,000
