Position Overview:
The Regional Human Resources Manager provides business partner leadership to multiple Alaska shore plants, logistics and engineering, while also being responsible for leading and developing multiple HR teams that are responsible for onsite HR operations administration. This role will also be a trusted advisor to both management and employees, offering strategic guidance and HR experience to our Alaska shore plants. They will work closely with the Support Center HRBP teams to drive HR outcomes.

This position will be based in Alaska and travel to support Alaska shore plants throughout the region. Travel throughout Alaska 30% of the time would be expected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a close partner with Plant Managers, Regional Managers, and Sr. Managers on all human resources matters, including providing counsel and support to managers and line leaders regarding talent acquisition, employee engagement and retention, employee relations, performance management, team building, coaching and development.
  • Manage, coach and develop direct reports across multiple locations; build HR capability of the team.
  • Resolve employee relations issues and conduct investigations as necessary.
  • Collaborate with department heads to understand their staffing needs and develop effective HR strategies.
  • Oversee the full employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
    Serve as a vital link between local operations and our Support Center teams, fostering collaboration between local HR plant teams, corporate HR, and operations leadership.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and simplification activities within HR and across the business.
  • Strengthen the HR leadership pipeline and build HR capability by acquiring, developing and inspiring great talent.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of business partner and people leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and years of experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills with the ability and passion to engage with others, establish trust, build long-lasting relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Experience with fast paced, complex and changing work environment; ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities simultaneously; excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain trust-based, collaborative relationships and influence others
  • A confident communicator (both verbally and in writing), strong judgement, proactive and approachable
  • Effective problem solving, process improvement and critical thinking skills
  • Team-oriented with the ability to flex in support of timelines and deliverables
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and HRIS systems necessary to be effective
  • Travel requirements varies based on need, approximately 30%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.
  • Proven experience in understanding multiple plant and functional business goals and successfully partnering with senior leadership on HR strategy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; multi-tasking and prioritizing, planning work activities efficiently to meet deadlines and high-level goals; managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates initiative, tenacity and the ability to think critically to reach the best solution
