Assists Chief Engineer in directing and overseeing the activities of the engineering support department regarding the mechanical operations, repair and maintenance functions for the vessel by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors or staff:

EDUCATION
Extensive seafood or related industry experience preferred. Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES
Appropriate licenses/permits of trade (e.g., CG license of appropriate horsepower, STCW, etc.) when required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
