POSITION TITLE: E-Commerce Associate

DEPARTMENT: The Salvation Army, Divisional Retail Operation

SUPERVISOR: Warehouse Lead

STATUS: Full-Time / 40 hours per week; Non-exempt

SCOPE OF POSITION

As an E-Commerce Associate, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our online retail platform. The E-Commerce Associate's responsibilities will include creating product listings, photographing, and enhancing the customer experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated competency in skill area as indicated by verifiable training and/or experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Create and update product listings, ensuring accurate product descriptions, images, and specifications.
  • Selecting high valued merchandise located at the warehouse to sell on online platform.
  • Testing items to confirm functionality or authenticity prior to posting (e.g., electronics, jewelry).
  • Administer inventory procedures to track active listings and securely store pending items in designated areas.
  • Address stock shipping, scheduling, and ensuring timely order fulfilment.
  • Provide excellent customer support via email, message, and phone, addressing customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Ensure precision in both written and verbal tasks.
  • Meeting daily posting quotas and weekly and monthly sales targets determined by Supervisor.
  • Taking an active role and partnering with the Warehouse Lead, Regional Retail Manager, and team members in the day-to-day operation of the e-commerce business.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Speaking, sitting, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, standing, kneeling, stooping, reaching,
handling, fingering, climbing, and balancing. Hearing and visual acuity must be within normal limits. Lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed throughout the store building. Occasional exposure to cold
temperatures and wet conditions. Noise level is generally low to medium. Hearing protection
may be worn when working around operating machinery.

SOFTWARE-RELATED SKILLS

Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook familiarity preferred. Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to understand, follow and give both written and oral instructions and be comfortable working with diverse individuals in face-to-face contact and over the telephone. The employee must be able to use speech and hearing for ordinary and telephone conversation.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must be able to perform simple calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and apply concepts such as ratios and percentages in practical situations.

PERFORMANCE SKILLS

Must be punctual, organized, self-motivated, flexible, and possess a desire to learn and assist those he/she interacts with.

PROTECT THE MISSION

Must complete the online course for this area and pass the Background Checks required by The Salvation Army for employment.
